2 Weeks and Counting...

In just under two weeks Billy and I will be finding out the BIGGEST surprise of our lives to this date.

BOY  or  GIRL   BOY  or  GIRL  BOY  or  GIRL  BOY  or  GIRL

In preparation for this big event, Billy and I decided to have a gender reveal party.  What better way to share the wonderful news of what we are having than having all of our friends and family in one place?  So... for the past two weeks, I have been accumulating all kinds ideas via Pinterest, too many in fact.  Though focusing my attention on this party is helping me NOT focus on how desperately I am DYING to find out what we are having.

So, as not to ruin any of the surprises, the only thing I am willing to show is the party invitations since they already went out.  That, and I am still working on making some of the other decorations.

And to conclude, since its been a couple of weeks... let's continue with the updates.

Week 18 Pregnancy Updates
Baby Guy's Size:  We aren't yet to the point where they are measuring how big Baby Guy is, so we just have to go off The Bump.  According to thebump.com, Baby Guy is the size of a sweet potato.  This means Baby Guy is about 5.6 inches long and 6.7 ounces, but growing rapidly!

My belly: There is officially a baby bump.  Not big enough for me to wear maternity clothes, but definitely something I can see.  I have been told at least 5 times within the past week that I don't even look pregnant, which is great!

My Size: Still no sufficient weight gain.  At this point, I am down 5 pounds.  I am not complaining as long as everything is ok.

Movement:  Well, ask and you shall receive.  This baby is a mover and a shaker!  Since the day that I first felt movement, it hasn't stopped.  Baby Guy seems to be a morning person and night owl.  I always have lots of movement right around breakfast time and right before bed.

Most exciting thing: Getting ready for the gender reveal! Seriously, I am so excited I have no idea how people go the entire time without finding out.  While I have been leaning toward baby girl the entire time, as the party gets closer, I am slowly starting to change my mind.  All Billy and I want is a healthy baby but finding out what we are having is going to make this all VERY REAL!

Most annoying thing: I broke down and bought some maternity clothes.  As I mentioned, I don't really need them yet, however, I wanted to be prepared.  I didn't buy too much since I will be the biggest in the summer months, but I am hoping to get by with wearing dresses, but I had to have a few essentials.

Cravings: Still not craving much.  Though I could eat fruit-flavored candy all day long.

Sickness:  I think we are in the clear, at least for now.  Here's hoping it doesn't make an appearance in the third trimester.

Next appointment:Thursday, May 30 is the big day.  Although we will not be finding out until May 31, we go for our anatomy screening on this day.  I am so excited to see Baby Guy as it has been SO LONG.  I can't wait to see how much bigger Baby Guy has gotten in 8 weeks.

One more exciting thing... Billy and I decided to purchase a 3D/4D ultrasound package through a business in Greenwood called Sneak Peak.  We did this as a Mother's Day gift for our moms, so they will both be able to go with us and meet Baby Guy before he/she is born!  It will be a bit of time before we go, but I am so excited to share this with them, I can barely wait!

That's it for now.  Maybe I can get Billy to post next time on his thoughts about the upcoming gender reveal!  I now he's excited, maybe even more so than me!

Something Just Happened....

I know I JUST posted an update, but something just happened!  Something that I have been talking about wanting to happen for weeks now!  Something that is making this pregnancy very real!

BABY GUY KICKED!  AND I FELT IT!

I wasn't so sure at first that what I was feeling was what I thought it was, but not 5 minutes later, same feeling happened again!  It hasn't happened again yet and its been a few hours, but I read that sometimes you feel it and won't again for a while when you are this early on in the pregnancy.
So, I wanted to mark this moment down for my own memory that Baby Guy kicked and I felt it for the first time today, Thursday, May 2, right at 16 weeks pregnant!

HOORAY!  So exciting!  Now I can't wait for Billy to be able to experience this!

Short and Sweet...

I had an appointment on Friday, April 26 and it was short and sweet.  15 minutes and I was in and out.  I LOVE appointments like that.  Not much was discussed except.. WE FIND OUT WHAT WE ARE HAVING SO SOON!

We made our anatomy appointment for the last week of May and I do not think I can wait that long!  We are still discussing doing a Gender Reveal party, but I am ALL ABOUT IT!  I think they are so much fun and will allow Billy and I to share the news of what we are having with all of our friends and family without having to wait 20 more weeks until the baby is born.  I am pretty sure I have Billy talked into, we just need to figure out the logistics.

So without much to report, I am just going to give a quick pregnancy update for week 15.

Week 15 Pregnancy Updates

Baby Guy's Size:  Still not quite sure because we didn't have an ultrasound, but according to The Bump, Baby Guy is about the size of a navel orange. Although we didn't get to see Baby Guy, we did get to hear the heartbeat again.  Baby Guy's heartbeat was about 157 so we can't even look to the old wive's tales to decide if Baby Guy is a he or a she!  Little stinker!

My belly: I think I can see a little growth, but still not much.  I am still excited to be wearing my own clothes comfortably and the goal is to make it to 20 before having to wear maternity!  We will see.

My Size: Still down 6 pounds.  I had gained two back by my appointment on Friday, but when I got up today, back down two.  I know this will change soon, but its nice to know I have a little leeway in the 11-20 pounds the doctor wants me to gain.

Movement:  Still nothing, but I am hoping to feel it soon.  From everything I have read, I don't expect to feel it befor 17-18 weeks, but you never know!

Most exciting thing: Hearing Baby Guy's strong and steady heartbeat.  When you can't feel anything, you sometimes forget there is a living person inside of you.  So being able to hear that wondrous sounds makes it so much fun.

Side note:  We did have a moment where all we heard were loud THUNKS! Doc told us apparently Baby Guy does not like the Doppler as he/she was moving around and kicking at it which was the loud thunks we were hearing.

Most annoying thing: The amount of times I have to use the bathroom in a single day!  I am one of those people who views going to the potty as the BIGGEST waste of time.  So now that I got about every stinking hour, I am highly irritated by it.

Cravings: Nothing crazy yet.  In fact, I suffer from craving nothing.  I still eat, but nothing ever sounds good.

Sickness:  Still feeling great... thank goodness!

Next appointment: Friday, May 24 though we may change it.  This is the BIG ONE!  Although we will be "finding out" what we are having, we are actually not going to find out until our Gender Reveal party.  And I think I have figured out a way to make it a surprise for everyone including the person hosting the party!

Stay tuned for the next post! We are going to be discussing the big GENDER REVEAL!
